Hello! My name is Kelly. My love for travel started during college, which lead to me living in Austria for an exchange year, seeing Central Europe and Italy. In fact, ask me about how I started dating my husband during this time. After getting mar...

I've always wanted to go on a Northern European cruise on Disney Cruise line since the first cruise We did with Disney, but the timing never worked out. Imagine my shock when my husband said "there is a cruise out of Copenhagen on the Disney Dream that will get us home the day before school start and it's on sale, would you like to go?"

Needless to say I said YES within seconds and We booked it. First lesson - look at flights before you book a non-refundable cruise as getting to Copenhagen from Orlando wasn't easy.

We arrived in Copenhagen the night before our cruise and the weather was amazing for August. We stayed at the Marriott Copenhagen which is right on the water and went for a stroll as a family after taking a nap. We ate a very American meal to settle in and then fell asleep early.

The next day it was off to the ship. The weather had turned a bit cooler but the Disney Dream looked as amazing as ever. As We boarded We were greeted by a few familiar faces and We knew it would be a GREAT trip.

Day 2: Germany - I got to experience Luebeck - a traditional German town - while the family stayed on the Dream. The city is quite historical, though I would plan to bring a meal as the tour didn't leave a lot of time for food. I had missed being in Germany and this town brought it all back

Day 3: At Sea - We experienced all the Dream had to offer, except the pool as it had gotten cold, the water was calm and we had an adult only lunch at Palo.

Day 4: The highlight city - Stockholm - We got to see a sucken ship that the People of Sweden spent 40 years putting back together, toured the palace and were worn out.

Day 5: Back at sea

Day 6: Fredericia - A fun town in Denmark that doesn't get a lot of cruise ships. If you are here and have a day go to Lego Land!

Day 7: Oslo - The weather had turned and there was more wind and rain than had been seen in 50 years. We were lucky to get to see the palace (and horses) before the wind and rain picked up.

Day 8: Back in Copenhagen to walk around the city, nap and get up at 3am to go back home.

Overall I would say a 7 day trip to Northern Europe was too short for me, but Disney made it amazing. I would add in more private tours to maximize the time if I went back.
