From a very young age, I have been traveling with my family and always have loved to travel. In fact, my first international trip was as a toddler on a transatlantic flight to Turkey with my parents. I clearly caught the travel bug during that fat...

The gorgeous atrium of the Celebrity Apex beckons!

The Celebrity Apex is an Edge Class ship that has modern design and is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful, unique artwork can be found throughout the ship. Dining, entertainment, and service are top notch.

My favorite spaces on the ship:

1. Magic Carpet: A cantilevered platform that hangs over the edge of the ship and that can be raised and lowered. It's normally used as a bar and lounge area, but it also is an easy way to board tender ships to shore. No other cruise line has this feature.

2. Eden: An AMAZING space at the aft of the ship. It has windows going up three decks with a very open-air feel. Eden has a cafe, bar, lounge, and restaurant. The cafe is open for breakfast and lunch. They offer made-to-order paninis at lunch. I loved the chicken pesto panini, as well as the chocolate chip cookies and brownies. The Eden Restaurant was our best dinner during our cruise (with a very high bar to meet, since food is excellent across the board). They offer late night entertainment in this space, which features singing and acrobatics.

3. The Retreat: This is a ship-within-a-ship experience that you must book if you're looking for extra luxury. Exclusivity and privacy reign supreme, as you enjoy a separate lounge, restaurant, sun deck, and pool. All Retreat guests enjoy butler service in their suites!

One question I’m often asked: Is Celebrity Cruises kid-friendly? It depends on your kid. While there were not a lot of children on our sailing, there were lots of family and kid activities available. I suspect that with less children on board, they actually can get more attention and be pampered in the kids' club, which is called Camp at Sea. My son isn't a kid's club fan (he won't even go on the Disney ships), but he thoroughly enjoyed our cruise!.
